The oldest club in YorkshireAnd home of the East Riding Union
Beverley & East Riding Golf Club
Beverley and East Riding Golf Club was formed in 1889 – making it the oldest inland club in Yorkshire!
The club is based on the glorious Beverley Westwood pasture land, famous for its landmark Black Mill and Anti-Mill, which our traditional-style Clubhouse is built around.
The 18-hole course is one of Yorkshire’s finest and most natural layouts, enjoying outstanding views of the town and surrounding countryside from many vantage points.
The club is adhering to government and England Golf Union COVID-19 restrictions and advice for playing safe golf.
Visitors are welcome at selected times.
Beverley and East Riding Golf Club is Safe Golf accredited

Welcome to Beverley and East Riding Golf Club.
Founded in 1889, we are Yorkshire’s oldest golf club and we are very proud of this.
As the men’s captain for 2022, I am looking forward to working with my Vice Captain Ben Gardiner and also the ladies’ Captain Barbara Hawley and her Vice Captain Sue Collins.
The club offers a warm welcome to new members and visitors, we are a very friendly club and offer great value for money.
Our course is set on the beautiful Westwood pastures and is one of the finest natural courses in the country. The course has undergone subtle improvements in 2022 so we are set for a fantastic year of golf on the Westwood.
We have a well-stocked golf shop run by our PGA Professional Paul Gibson and his assistant Theo Blake who will be happy to help you with any aspects of golf or coaching.
Catering is available from the Marne Restaurant, they offer anything from coffee and snacks to a full carvery.
My Charity for 2022 is Space 2B Heard. This is a mental health charity that offers low cost, or in many cases free, counselling and support for people suffering mental health problems. I hope to shortly have in place trained male and female mental health champions, who will have taken a recognised mental health qualification and will be available to any member if they need support or help.
Finally, I am looking forward to a great year of golf at Beverley and East Riding golf club.
Men’s Captain 2022
I am proud and honoured to be selected Lady Captain of Beverley & East Riding Golf Club and would like to thank everyone for their best wishes and encouragement.
My thanks to the outgoing Lady Captain, Jan Dickens for her support over the last year and all the hard work that she has put in especially, as her year did not get off to a good start, due to Covid.
I look forward to working with Sue Collins as my Lady Vice-Captain. I know, she will make a super Lady Captain in 2023.
There is a great atmosphere around the club and I look forward to taking the ladies section from strength to strength.
I have decided to support a local charity this year and that charity is Beverley Community Lift. I do hope you are able to support my fund raising events through out the year to raise much needed finance so they can continue their excellent work in providing transport to local community.

Our Captains' Charities 2022
The team at Space2BHeard CIC are delighted to have been chosen as Beverley and East Riding Golf Club’s Men’s Captain’s Charity for 2022.
Our plan for the coming year is to jointly promote mental health and wellbeing within our communities.
We will do this through a programme of activities such as hosting events, fundraising, training and providing information and resources at key points during the year.
We have kick-started in March by providing 10 members of the club’s community Mental Health First Aid training to equip individuals with the knowledge to signpost those in need of additional support.
Any funds raised during 2022 will be used within our Space2BHeard Foundation which funds support for people in our community that face barriers to accessing mental health support such as living with long term health conditions or living on low income.
We look forward to creating positive outcomes over the next year
Beverley Community Lift has been chosen by our Lady Captain, Barbara Hawley, to be her nominated charity.
Beverley Community Lift works to reduce loneliness and increase independence for elderly and disabled people.
Our car service can help you get to medical appointments e.g. doctors, dentist, hospital, opticians. or perhaps you would like to go and visit a friend?
We are a trusted door-to-door service. We ask for a suggested donation to cover our costs. If you or someone you know would like a lift, please call for a chat.
We run minibus trips to the supermarkets in Beverley. You will have time to do your shopping and have a catch up over a coffee. We can give you help if needed around the supermarket.
Come and join us on one of our outings and make new friends! We have a varied list of places we are visiting this year, from Yorkshire Lavender Farm to the theatre.
Community groups can also hire our minibuses with a volunteer driver.
