Best Wishes to everyone for this Christmas festive break, which is probably much different from what we all planned for this special time of the year. Let’s look forward to better times ahead, not just in golfing terms, but in putting the end of an unprecedented year behind us.

Focusing on our golf, we will benefit from having a zero increase in annual subscription fees for 2021. In addition to the excellent value for money of Beverley golf membership, there will be continuous work to improve our Course, Golf Shop and facilities for members and visitors alike.

As I enter the final phase of my Captaincy – which has been somewhat different from my original plans! – there is a date for your diary of Sunday 21 February 2021. A “Captains Drive Out” competition will replace the traditional “Drive-In” competition which I was unable to offer due to Storms Ciara/Dennis and the first national lockdown. The “Drive Out” competition will be a Pairs – Stableford format combining additional winners prize funds I have allocated to the event and “nearest the pin on the 18th with a difference!” Details to follow nearer the time.
