Removing Cattle From A Green

Cattle can do a lot of damage to greens if they are not removed from the greens correctly.

When cattle get onto greens they need to be removed, doing the least amount of damage to the greens.

Greenkeepers access the green by undoing a section of wire between two posts on all greens.

Undo that section of wire and pull it back from the gap.  (See video)

Quietly and slowly walk from the centre of the green towards the beast and it will move along the wire. Walk behind the animal directing it towards the gap. Once it leaves the green hook the wire back into place.

If you rush the beast it may leave deep hoof prints on the green.

The cattle are not a danger to anyone.
